Entryway suggestions?

Since moving in we have been so busy working on other areas of the house that we have not had the time to even think about our entryway and boy does it show.  We walk to a large park which is right next to our home almost on a daily basis and that coupled with the fact that we do not wear shoes inside the house, really has caused major chaos indeed.  This is what it looks like most days ...

I have decided that the time has come to start working on this sorely neglected area of our house. I have started the makeover by buying two baskets that are perfect for holding all the sports equipment that inevitably finds itself gracing our entryway after our park excursions. 

I have also replaced the lamp shade and started to play around with a few accessories. There is still much to do before I can achieve the look I want and I will posting picture updates as the process unfolds so stay tuned!

These pictures are to provide her with some decor inspiration. They all have the dark bed frame with white nightstand thing going on.

  I included this pic because she is also working on a dresser. I love how this dresser was styled!
